Manipur: Lukanand Kshetrimayum and Langpoklakpam Melody receive a rousing welcome at Imphal

The capital city of Manipur was in a celebratory mood on Wednesday afternoon, as they geared up for the homecoming of two of their children Lukanand Kshetrimayum and Langpoklakpam Melody who recently made waves across the northeast by winning the titles of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2019, and Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019 respectively.

Lukanand also won the national title of Mister International India 2019, thus qualifying to solely represent India in the Mister International pageant to be held abroad later this year.

The two winners from Manipur, who won their respective titles in Guwahati on 8th and 9th August, 2019.

Speaking on the occasion, Langpoklakpam Melody said, “This is such a heart-warming moment, I am truly grateful! So many people, elders as well as kids from various schools had gathered to welcome me, this is truly overwhelming. I was expecting to return home to my normal life, but the reception I received here was beyond my wildest imagination.”

Speaking about the responsibility he holds towards his community as a youth icon, Lukanand Kshetrimayum said, “I hope our victory will motivate my peers from Manipur to believe that if we can make it big in the world of fashion, even they can. I will be more than happy to guide them to go forward in the same journey that I went. There is a lot of potential among the youth here, and pageants like these will help them get the stage that they deserve. I want to see the youngsters of Manipur achieving everything they deserve, not just in the regional platform, but nationally and internationally as well.”

Large number of people including friends, family and media persons, gathered at the Imphal airport today for the grand homecoming of Lukanand and Melody.

 In addition, many students and people from different parts of the city joined the celebration, and homecoming of their children who made the Manipur proud through their achievement.
