Meghalaya: AFWWA EAC conducts Declamation Contest

The winners of such competition held in different bases of IAF under EAC participated in the contest for selection to represent the Eastern Air Command region in Delhi.

Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA), Eastern Air Command, organised a Declamation contest on 15 Jul 19 in Hindi and English for the wards of air warriors.

The winners of such competition held in different bases of IAF under EAC participated in the contest for selection to represent the Eastern Air Command region in Delhi.

It was a tough competition wherein students expressed their opinion on topics such as Artificial Intelligence: a threat to humanity, Should military training be made compulsory for our youth and National identity vs Regional identity. The value of the event was further enhanced by the conduct of a workshop on ‘Oratory skills’ by Ms Debi Roy senior officials from All India Radio, Shillong.

The contest was presided over by Mrs. Shipra Mathur, President, AFWWA (Regional), EAC IAF. She facilitated the Winners and Judges and appreciated the children for participating in the declamation contest.

The judges for English declamation were Dr. Ana Nicole and Ms Anita Pde and those for Hindi declamation were Dr. Filmica Marbaniang and Dr. HK Mishra.

The participants were also taken for sightseeing to the Matilang Park, View Point Laitkor Peak and Don Bosco Museum, Shillong and bonded well with each other during the trekking organised for them. AFWWA (Regional) is an organisation established and managed by the wives of the Air Force personnel for the welfare of its members and their wards.
