International Women’s Day- Rotract Club donates 8000 Sanitary pads to 215 students

8000 Sanitary Pads Donated under “WeForHer2.0” by Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit on occasion of International women’s Day.

The Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit in association with Narayana Hirdalaya Superspeciality Hospital, Amingaon celebrated International Women’s Day 2019 at Kaliram Barua Girls High School on Friday by organising a seminar on menstrual hygiene under #WeForHer2.0 initiative. 8000 Sanitary pads were distributed amongst 215 students along with the educational seminar by team of qualified doctors from the hospital.

Sri. DP Bajaj was the chief guest who applauded the effort’s & encouraged the girls to adopt the modern & safe methods of hygiene during mensuration.

The program was chaired by Saurav Jhunjhunwala – The President of the club, Tushar Jalan – Founder & Chairman of the Project, Pinaki Bhuyan – Chief Matron of NH Amingaon.

The club felicitated the hospital for their continuous help in field of health & hygiene projects in last 2 years. The club also bestowed “#WeForHER2.0 Champion” Citation to Rtr. Shivam Saraf for being the highest donor.

The #WeForHer2.0 is an International level project by Rotaract Club of Guwahati Luit & Siliguri Greater, RID 3240 which is being held in 3 Countries (India, Nigeria & Bangladesh), & 47 City’s.

Approximately the initiative aims to educate 6000 underprivileged girls & distribute 50-80000 sanitary pads. This initiative is also appreciated by State’s Health Minister Biswa Sarma.
