Exercise SAMPRITI is an Indo-Bangladesh Joint Training Exercise held alternately in India & Bangladesh every year with an aim to to build and promote positive relations between the Armies of India & Bangladesh.
The seventh annual bilateral exercise Indo-Bangladesh Command Post Exercise ‘MILAP 2017’ as part of Exercise SAMPRITI 2017 is being organised by the Red Horns Division of the elite Gajraj Corps from 6th to 11th November 2017 at Joint Training Node, Umroi, Meghalaya.
The Exercise began today with inauguration of the Joint Training Node at Umroi Cantonment by LtGen AS Bedi YSM , VSM General Officer Commanding Gajraj Corps in presence of Maj Gen PS Behl GOC Red Horns Division .
The General Officer Commanding Gajraj Corps was the Chief Guest of the event. He welcomed the Bangladesh Army contingent on behalf of the Government of India and the Indian Army and gave out the Opening Address to commence six day long Command Post Exercise ‘MILAP 2017’ during the opening ceremony conducted at Joint Warfare Centre, Umroi, Meghalaya.
A total of 14 officers from the Bangladesh Army and 20 Officers from the Indian Army are taking part in the event. The Indo-Bangladesh Joint Training Exercise SAMPRITI 2017 in its seventh edition will send a strong signal to the world that both India and Bangladesh understand the emerging threat of transnational terrorism and stand shoulder to shoulder united in countering this menace.
Exercise SAMPRITI is an Indo-Bangladesh Joint Training Exercise held alternately in India & Bangladesh every year with an aim to to build and promote positive relations between the Armies of India & Bangladesh. It also aims to enhance interoperability between the two nations and enrich from each other’s experience while carrying out Counter Insurgency, Counter Terrorist operations, the menace from which both the nations are severely affected.
