Bridge of Hope Celebrates Christmas with underprivileged children

Bridge of Hope Diocese of Tinsukia Believers Eastern Church celebrated Christmas with underprivileged children on 21st December 2017 at Diocesan Campus, Doomduma. BOH children and their parents attended the program. The program was led by Mr. Sujit Takri, Program Coordinator. It was started with a word of prayer by Dn. Sailendra Mohon, Seminary Principal and followed by a welcome song by BOH Children.

A felicitation and welcome was done by Hemanta Kumar Nath, Regional Coordinator to the guests and invitees. After that there was a lighting of lamp by the guest. The guests  Rupesh Gowala, Secretary of ACMS and Dinesh Goel, president, Dooduma Press Club appreciated the noble works done by Bridge of Hope for underprivileged children.

They also wish merry Christmas and happy New Year 2018 to the gathering. Rev. Fr. Tasi Tamut, Vicar General of Tinsukia Diocese shared the Christmas message. He explained the meaning and purpose of Christmas. He said, “Christmas brings good tidings for all, especially for those rejected and downtrodden, oppressed and sufferings. Put trust in God and receive the great joy and peace in your hearts”.

Meanwhile, Christmas gifts of sweaters, umbrellas and school bags were distributed to more than 1300 children. The gifts were presented by the guests to the children.

During the occasion, the BOH staff presented Christmas carol songs. Also, there were songs and choreographies performed by children of different projects with various traditional attires and flavour to make the celebration more colourful and meaningful.

After the program all the children and parents were provided with Christmas lunch, cake and sweets. The event ended with vote of thanks by Child sponsor coordinator and a word prayer by Dn Manual Chati.
