Assam: Work paralysed for the 3rd day in Bogibeel bridge

The construction work of Bogibeel bridge in Assam  stopped for the 3rd consecutive day on Friday because of threatening to the workers by a group of miscreants.

The engineers, workers and labourer under the main contractor M/s Hindustan Construction Company were allegedly threatened by the group demanding employment by illegal means.

The district administration intervened the matter. ADC Subhon Gowala had a meeting with the railway & HCC officials and representatives of the contractors and assured them full help & support to maintain law and order at the project site.

As alleged the miscreants continued to threaten the workers till this morning. A team of senior railway officials arrived the project site this morning to take stock of the situation. As per sources, they are unable to convince the workers to start the work till proper action is taken against the miscreants.
