Assam: Two child labourers rescued in Hailakandi district

The police has registered cases against the offenders for engaging minor children as domestic help.

In a special drive carried out Thursday, two minor children were rescued from bonded labour in Assam’s Hailakandi district.

The child labourers, who were rescued by the District Level Task Force Committee comprising Labour Department, DCPO, CWC, Child Line and police personnel, were engaged as domestic help.

The police has registered cases against the offenders for engaging minor children as domestic help.

It may be mentioned that 8 minor children were rescued from bonded labour in June this year.
