Assam: SK Roy Civil Hospital to get major face lift

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, sanctioning Rs.3.80 crore for renovation of the 100-bedded hospital under its CSR initiative.

SK Roy Civil Hospital is all set to get a major facelift with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, North Eastern Region, sanctioning Rs.3.80 crore for repairing and renovation of the 100-bedded hospital under its CSR initiative.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the officials of Power Grid and Hailakandi district administration at a function held at the hospital premises here on Friday.

Deputy Commissioner, Adil Khan signed the MoU on behalf of the district administration and General Manager (HR), Power Grid, AK Borthakur on behalf of the power corporation.

The foundation stone for the project was laid by Deputy Commissioner Khan in presence of local MLA, Anwar Hussain Laskar, General Manager (HR), Power Grid, Borthakur, Additional Deputy Commissioner,  EL Fairhiem, Joint Director, Health Services, Dr. Abed Rasul Mazumder and Superintendent, SK Roy Civil Hospital, Dr. Sudip Kumar Chakrabarty.

The proposed infrastructural facelift of the civil hospital is expected to ease the burden of patients on some crowded wards.

The plan is to modernize the existing structures. “The objective of the major renovation is to ease the congestion and do away with discomfort for patients,” said hospital authority.
