Assam: Pre Republic Day training Camp for NE NCC Cadets

The combined annual training-cum-Pre Republic Day (RD) NCC camp is being organised by NCC Group HQ Guwahati under the aegis of NCC Directorate North Eastern Region (NER) at Narangi Cantonment.
The camp started on December 09 with the primary aim of selection of North Eastern Region NCC contingent for the Republic Day Camp (RDC) to be held in New Delhi in January 2019.
A large number of competitions like Drill, Guard of Honour, Cultural and Flag Area are being conducted during the 20-day-long camp to select the team for RDC in New Delhi. Approximately 400 NCC cadets from the entire North East Region are participating in the camp.
The cadets are being trained for RD Parade, Cultural programes, PM Rally and Exchange Programes. It is a matter of pride for the people of the Northeast that such large numbers of NCC cadets will be participating in the Republic Day Function 2019.
Major General Raju Chauhan, Additional Director General (ADG) , NER, oversaw the conduct of training of the camp on December 11 2018 .
The ADG informed that the aim of the camp is to enhance self confidence of the cadets, deepen their value systems and provide an exposure to the rich culture and traditions of North East Region.
Projection of cherished ideals and capabilities of the cadets of the NCC is intrinsic. The Additional Director General also highlighted the major achievements of the NCC in Youth and Nation Building, Social Awareness Campaigns, Community Development, Environment Protection, Sports and Adventure.
