The first meeting of the newly constituted Aadhaar Enrollment Committee was held at Deputy Commissioner’s office at Hailakandi on Saturday.
Presiding over the meeting, District Development Commissioner, FR Laskar, who is the Member Secretary of the committee, said the administration will set up 28 aadhaar enrollment centres in Government buildings as per the guidelines of the State Government.
Laskar asked the members to identify the Government buildings that have power and net connectivity with adequate space not less than 40 sq.m. Laskar said the administration will take steps in right earnest for appointment of a government employee as a verifier for each of the 28 aadhaar enrollment centres.
The process for appointment of verifiers with approval from the chairman of the committee will be completed within the next 15 days, he
It may be mentioned here that a nine-member district level aadhaar implementation committee was constituted on February 14 last for smooth execution of the aadhaar enrollment exercise.
