Assam: Guwahati police stations gets reception hall

You must have an experience of a reception counter of a hotel or a company, firm or any business establishment,  where a receptionist is welcoming and providing all the information what you need.

Now you can get the same experience in Guwahati’s police station, where in a reception hall receptionist will welcome you and provide all the information related to any case.

In an effort to make city police stations more smooth and people-friendly, Director General of Police (DGP) Kuladhar Saikia inaugurated the newly built reception hall at Panbazar Police Station on Tuesday.

Explaining the objectives in an occasion centrally organized at the Panbazar police station premise, DGP Saikia said that the guests often encounter numerous problems while visiting the police stations. “It will be ensured that their preliminary problems will be counselled and enlightened in the reception hall itself,” he said.

In the  first phase, reception halls at four other police stations – Bharalumukh, Jalukbari, Dispur and Fatasil-Ambari have also been already completed. Efforts are on to incorporate one reception hall at each police stations of Guwahati in a phase manner.

Stating that the staff to be positioned in the reception halls will have to sincerely provide services as sought by the visitors, Saikia highlighted that in need, such reception halls will be incorporated to other police stations across the state. During the occasion, Saikia also appealed to the officers and the jawans to provide services with truth, focus and dedication to the people of the State.
