Assam: Dolidohar adopted as model village for holistic development

Dolidohar village under Algapur Development Block has been adopted as model village for holistic development under Yuva Adarsha Gram Bikash Kariyakram in Hailakandi district.

At a function held at 173 Dolidohar LP School on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli urged all the inhabitants of the village to make cleanliness a way of life and to make the village the cleanest one. She distributed 10 numbers of goats to female members of 10 poor and needy families of the village under the Economic Development Programme of Yuva Adarsha Gram Bikash Kariyakram.

Jalli also appreciated Nehru Yuva Kendra, Hailakandi and Amar Jyoti Club, Janeki Bazar for the initiatives such as cleanliness drive, making of dustbins and trying to address problems like drinking water and road communication in cooperation with the line departments and assured all sorts of support and cooperation from the administration to make Dolidohar as model village.

Said District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Hailakandi SR Deb, “The scheme will help in identifying gaps in the village, prioritising them and marrying them with various schemes of the Centre and the state government.”

Jalli also advised the youth clubs to take up afforestation drive to promote greenery in the village.

The Deputy Commissioner complimented the head master and teachers of 173 Dolidohar LP School for keeping the school campus spic and span and assured cooperation for infrastructure development of the school.
