Assam: Bijay Diwas celebrated with Ex-Servicemen Rally, Marathon

A Ex-Servicemen Rally held at Narangi military Station , and a Marathon for gunners organsied on the occasion of Bijay Diwas.

Ex Servicemen (ESM) Rally was held at Narangi Military Station on 16 December 2018 under the aegis of 51 Sub Area. A Total of about 1000 Ex Servicemen,  War Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents  from Kamrup Metro) & Kamrup(Rural)  attended the Rally .

The Rally was  grace by  Dr(Mrs) Justice Indira Shah(Judicial) cum Head of  of Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench, Guwahati. The officiating GOC of 51 Sub Area Brigadier Yoginder Singh addressed the gathering where in he informed the various schemes  for the welfare of Ex Servicemen.

Brigadier (Retired) ND Joshi SM ,  Director of Assam Rajya Sainik Board also apprised the  various welfare schemes and measures undertaken by the Asam Government. He also informed that all Ex Servicemen should register themselves with the Sainik Board and visit the state office for redressal of any grievances.

The disable soldiers were provided with Modified Scooters,  Wheel Chairs , prosthetic and Hearing aids.  A large numbers of Stall to include Medical Camp, Army Placement Node, Army Recruitment Cell and Canteen facilities were provided to the Veterans and Veer Naris. The rally was greatly beneficial for  the Ex Servicemen , Veer Naris and their Dependents. The Rally ended with Lunch for  all who were present.

Red Horns Gunners in Marathon

63 gunners of Red Horns Division including  20 Officers, 02 JCOs and 40 other ranks participated in the Go Green Marathon organized by State Bank of India at Guwahati on 16 December.

The soldiers of the Division participated in categories ranging from 05 Km to 21 Km  to commemorate ‘VIJAY DIWAS’ which signifies Indian Army’s historic victory  over  Pakistan in the 1971 War and to honour martyrs and wounded warriors disabled in the line of duty.

The run was an endeavor to spread awareness of the great sacrifices made by our brave hearts and instill in each citizen a sense of pride for soldiers who serve untiringly in difficult environment to safeguard the nation’s integrity, unity, sovereignty and safety.

The Gunners of the Red Horns Division participated with zeal and enthusiasm to celebrate the undying spirit of ‘Soldiering’.
