Assam: Awareness programmes on Swaraj Abhiyan in Hailakandi

As part of ongoing Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, awareness programmes are being conducted by the concerned banks in 11 identified villages of Hailakandi district for opening of bank accounts under PMJDY and enrollment under PMJJBY and PMSBY with the support of BDOs, NRLM and Gaon Panchayats.

Lead District Manager, United Bank of India, Hailakandi branch, informed Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Adil Khan about the action plan to enrol unbanked adults under the programmes.
Meanwhile, awareness programmes organised in Polarpur, Bakrihower Part II and Bakrihower Part III under Algapur block and Dholai Molai under Katlicherra block drew a good response.
Survey is being conducted by the concerned banks with the support of CSPs and Gaon Panchayats to find out the unbanked adults for opening of accounts under PMJDY and enrollment under PMJJBY and PMSBY. The Lead Manager exuded optimism that the whole exercise carried out from April 14 is likely to be completed by tomorrow.
“The concerned banks will fix up their target after completion of survey and start opening of accounts under PMJDY and enrollment under PMJJBY and PMSBY within the stipulated time frame,” he said.
