Assam: National Highway Blockade by ABSU in support of Bodoland – 2nd day

More than 20 thousand activist taking part on the second day of 5 days National Highway Blockade in Asam called by ABSU, NDFB(P), and PJACBM in support of Bodoland-

The above photo shows that the ‘Bodo women are busy in cooking food’, but this photo is taken not in any celebration or picnic party. Actually these bodos women are cooking food for  thousand of  bodo activist who are sitting on a dharna on National highway on the second day of   “five days  National Highway Blockade in Bodoland Territorial Council, Assam called by All Bodo Student’s Union and other organisation begins from 2nd May.

Thousand of activists of All Bodo Student’s Union (  ABSU ),  National Democratic front of Bodoland progressive (NDFB-P) and PJACBM  have blocked the national highway 31-c by sitting on dharna, where  bodo  women are also participating,  they are sitting on dharna, shouting slogans as well as cooking food for all.

Talking to  NortheastIndia24 , ABSU president Promod Boro said that ”  We urge upon the Government of India to Resolve the longstanding demand for creating Bodoland state at an early date, Hold the political level tripartite dialogue to resolve the Bodoland Issue, Ensure the Political Rights of the Bodos living in Assam outside proposed Bodoland, Grant Schedule Tribe Hills [S.T. (H)] status to the Bodos living in Karbi Anglong in Assam”  but their is not  any fruitfull initiative from the govt on the above issues or our above demands. Hence we are compel to go to the path of agitation, he added.

It must be mention here that ” the Bodo people on 26th April, have  organised the “BETRAYAL DAY as well as BLACK DAY” of Bodoland Movement,  to show their  regret with the Government by shaving their hairs and putting Black Badge in their shirt.
